Mobil North To Start Drilling At Its Beryl Oil Field In Northern North Sea

Mobil North Sea LLC (Mobil North), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, is planning to begin fresh drilling at its Beryl oil field, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Detailed studies of the site have unveiled new opportunities at the field, which now produces around 25,000 barrels a day. Mobil North operated the field with a 50% stake. Other partners include Hess Ltd. with 22.22%, Enterprise Oil Ltd., a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell Plc with 22.78% and OMV AG (OMV.VI), with 5%.
The Beryl area fields recorded a total cumulative production of one billion barrels of oil and condensate in 2009, 33 years after production began at the site.
