Eni Starts Gas Production At North Bardawil Field In Bardawil Concession, Egypt

Eni S.p.A (Eni) has started up sub-sea gas production in North Bardawil field, within the North Bardawil concession, located in the Mediterranean offshore of Egypt. The expected maximum production rate will be 2.7 million standard cubic meters (scm) per day, about 17,000 barrels of per day (bopd), of which about 6,000 bopd as Eni equity share.

The companies working in this project are IEOC Production B.V. (Ieoc) (Eni's affiliate in Egypt) 60% and KUFPEC (Egypt) Ltd (KUFPEC) (Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company's affiliate in Egypt) 40%, whereas the operator is Petrobel, a joint operating company made of Ieoc and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

The project consists of two sub-sea wells drilled by semi-submersible rig Scarabeo-4, the installation of 24 kilometres of sea line in a water depth ranging between 110 and 350 meters, and the tie-back to the existing production platform Barboni.
