Bonatti Signs $149.7 Million EPC Contract With Sonatrach And Anadarko Petroleum In Algeria

Published: 27-Oct-2009

Bonatti S.p.A. (Bonatti), a provider of engineering, procurement, construction and operation and maintenance services to the oil and gas and power industry, has entered into a $149.7 million contract with Sonatrach and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (Anadarko Petroleum) to construct oil and gas pipelines in Algeria's Sahara, Reuters reported.

As per the 24-month engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, Bonatti will construct three pipelines out of El Merk field, 350 kilometers (218 miles) southeast of Hassi Messaoud oil and gas complex. The links will ship crude to Houd El Hamra and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and condensate to Gassi Touil.

Anadarko Petroleum and Sonatrach are due to conclude the development of El Merk field in 2012 with production capacity expected to reach 135,000 barrels per day of oil, 150,000 barrels of condensate and 30,000 barrels of LPG, Sonatrach's Chief Executive, Mohamed Meziane said.
